The Story

Jumbo Egyptian Coturnix Quail Hatching Eggs

The Jumbo Egyptian Coturnix is here! After months of selective breeding, this line is finally ready for your incubator. These quail combine all the desirable traits of the Jumbo Pharaoh—calm temperament, rapid growth, feather sexability, and high productivity—but with a lighter, strawberry-blond twist thanks to the Egyptian “diluter” gene.

Perfect for backyard breeders, hobbyists, or meat and egg producers looking to add both function and visual variety to their flock.

Appearance

Feather Color:
Egyptian quail has a warm, strawberry-blond or light cinnamon appearance—softer and lighter than the traditional Pharaoh brown. This unique hue is caused by the diluter gene.

Body Type:
Jumbo-sized, heavy-bodied Coturnix with a well-developed breast and wide frame—ideal for meat production.

Size:

  • Males: ~12–13 oz

  • Females: ~13–14+ oz
Comparable in size to Jumbo Pharaohs.

Sexing:
Feather-sexable by chest pattern at 2–3 weeks:

  • Females: Speckled chest

  • Males: Solid cinnamon chest with light chinstrap

Temperament

Calm & Quiet:
Just like Jumbo Pharaohs, Egyptian quails are gentle, quiet, and suitable for stealth or urban setups.

Beginner-Friendly:
Easy to raise and handle—perfect for new quail keepers.

Egg Production

Reliable Layers:
Daily layers under optimal conditions, producing 250–300 speckled eggs per year.

Egg Appearance:
Standard speckled Coturnix eggs—small, nutrient-rich, and excellent for eating or pickling.

Early Maturity:
Begin laying around 6–8 weeks of age with proper care.
